this is my home.

the bathroom always smells of dirty kids, soap, and toothpaste. the tub is usually clean enough, but filled with toys. the counter is usually covered in make up and toothpaste splats. the floor always has an article of clothing or two… or more… on it. and the kitchen has a sink that always seems to be filled with dishes.

my bedroom has no floor, only clothes, but the room smells pretty and fresh. the bed is never made, but usually has a lovely warm toddler smelling area in the middle. my dresser drawers are never closed because we’re trying to fit three people worth of clothes in it. all of that is ok though, because i am only in there at bedtime. and the kitchen has a sink that always seems to be filled with dishes.

the kids’ bedroom and playroom are always a disaster. toys, clothes, and blankets are always everywhere. sometimes the rooms even smell a little off – like children, fun, and dirt, but that’s ok because i don’t hang out in those rooms and i’m not the one who is cleaning them. and the kitchen has a sink that always seems to be filled with dishes.

the living room is bright and colorful with the children’s art on the walls. there are always books, craft supplies, and toys scattered around. it never looks perfect and the only rug on the floor is a car play rug. it is a room filled with happiness, fun and play, so i love it the way it is. and the kitchen has a sink that always seems to be filled with dishes.

the kitchen is much too small for a family of six plus a dog. there’s never enough room, and the walls and floor seem to collect coats, bags and shoes. there is never enough cabinet space and the room always smells like food. but the walls are a sunny yellow and the fridge and cabinets almost always have food. and the kitchen has a sink that always seems to be filled with dishes.
